The Battle of Newton marked the cumulation of the Sullivan Campaign, a retaliatory mission to destroy native villages in Western New York State, met with fierce resistance from Iroquois Warriors.
This battlefield reenactment commemorated the 240th anniversary of when General Anthony Wayne defeated a British Garrison in a daring night time raid. This victory was much needed for the overall morale of the Patriot Army. 1500 Patriots participated overpowering the 750 British Soldiers. Well attended, scarcely marketed, this event promoted many historic trades enjoyed by kids and adults for a 2 day event.
